It might have not been open a month yet but V.Or.V is already earning rave reviews and you don't not been be partaking in veganuary, or living the full time vegan life to enjoy dining at this meat-free restaurant.
Located at the historic Wharncliffe Works, V.Or.V has been a change in lifestyle for brothers, Nick and Matt Burgess who've taken a change in pace of life, leaving the city centre and Ecclesall Road behind where they both managed busy bars. V.Or.V is very different, on every level. The interior (designed by the brothers) has been created for a chilled atmosphere, whether you're popping in for a coffee in the daytime or a sit down meal at night. Speaking of the interior, it's all been sourced as locally as possible, cutting down the carbon footprint.
It isn't just the decor that has been picked out for sustainability, the ingredients and their packaging has too, fitting in with the whole ethos of this project. Danny Lynn, who was the chef at the Great Gatsby on Division Street has put a menu together that might be meat-free but it isn't lacking in favour.
How has this affected the Burgess pair? Matt has gone from a meat eater to a veggie and Nick, formely veggie, now vegan, and they both feel better for it!
You'll find V.Or.V on Cornish Street. Visit their website for more details.
