Island. is located at the Kelham Island Museum but it's more than a museum cafe.

Visiting the museum or not, Island. is a place to grab a coffee or have a natter with pals over brunch served 'til 1pm whilst the lunch menu is available 'til 4pm.

At weekends Island. is open 'til late, serving beers, wines and spirits.

It's not only a place to eat & drink, it's a community hub. There's a function room available for residents to hire for free during the day, in the evening it becomes a social space with table tennis.

Make No Bones @ Church

Vegan food perfect for non-Vegans - Dog Friendly

Vegan or not, it doesn’t matter when you enter Church: Temple of Fun, the 100% Vegan establishment. Church is extra on every level, including the food, cooked by the highly acclaimed Make No Bones. Reading the menu looks pretty straight-forward, it tastes, looks, smells & feels like meat but no animals were sacrificed for your meal. Look out for their brunch specials on weekends.

Our recommendation: DD burger

The Milestone

From brunch to late night dining

The Milestone was the catalyst for the ‘new’ Kelham Island. Once a pub that sold pizza it has evolved into a gastro pub serving locally sourced, seasonal food. It’s a cosy and atmospheric restaurant with food you’d expect in a fine-dining experience.

Monthly Street Food Market with Craft Beer, Cocktails & Gin Bar - Dog Friendly

Peddler is a phenomenon that continues to grow. Essentially it’s a car park and warehouse with food sold on plates but they’ve got a formula that  works. The monthly event (plus a veggie special every quarter) attracts thousands over 2 days, people queue for an hour to get the chance to taste some of the best street food in the country.

The night market also includes craft beer from guest breweries, cocktail & prosecco bars, craft stalls, musicians as well as 92 Burton Road residents Kelham Arcade, The Depot Bakery & Nether Edge PIzza.

Our recommendation: Check out our blog for our trader of the month.

First Friday & Saturday of the month

Mexican food has never tasted so good, forget Taco Bell, Pina are as authentic as they come when it comes to the classic taco. Hand-made onsite, these tasty bites which change seasonally fit perfectly with the laid back aesthetics that this former warehouse has been transformed into.
